Polypainting in Zbrush 3.0
This demo discusses Zbrush 3.0's capabilites as a 3d paint program and demonstrates usage of the Zproject Brush and Transpose tool. While this demo was created in Zbrush 3.0, the technique is essentially the same in 3.1
One of the first things we must be aware of when polypainting is that our image resolution is DIRECTLY dependant on the number of polygons in the mesh. One color is assigned per vertex, meaning that a low res model will display a low res texture. In this demo, I am working a log which is subdivided to about 700,000 polys. This will transfer nicely into a 1024x1024 map. However, think about what would be needed for the equivalent of a 4096x4096 texture file... a model with over 16,000,000 polys of resolution!
