Week 9: Radial Construction: Tires and Hubcaps
This week offers more lab time, plus a look at radial construction techniques. We will build a tire tred and create hubcaps.

Modeling Hubcaps:
This is our first look at radial construction methods. These methods require precise positioning of elements to get duplicated correctly. They also require a good idea of how the number of spokes may transfer into the number of degrees between duplicates.
| If you have _____ spokes, then: | Duplicate/Rotate by ______ degrees: |
|---|---|
| 4 spokes | 90 degrees |
| 5 spokes | 72 degrees |
| 6 spokes | 60 degrees |
| 7 spokes | 51.429 degrees |
| 8 spokes | 45 degrees |
Input the degrees in the Rotate X slot of the Duplicate Special Options, like so:

This is my video tutorial on the process:
When using a bend deformer, remember that the proper amount to create a full bend is "PI"
