MAA 4400: 3d Characters for Animation Production Students will concept characters from established narratives, then create the models and textures needed for these to become rigged and animated in collaboration with the students in the MA4403 Production Team course. Emphasis is on cohesive design, a sense of developed style, and adherence to technical standards.

Week 10: Rigging and Rendering
Due at the start of class in week 11:
Characters should be test rigged
Lit and Rendered for 180 frame Turntable (1 full revolution)
I create my blenshapes inside of Zbrush using the techniques in the video below (click on image for larger version):

Next, I set up aim constraints for my eyes in Maya:

From there, I import my blendshapes and set up my facial controls using set driven key:

Then I create my skeletal system, IKs, and controllers:


Finally, I bind my skin, and paint weights and create a test pose:
